charter #186635
Opened in June 2024, Heartwood Little Free Library is a community hub for book lovers in West Valley City, Utah. This neighborhood library welcomes residents to browse and borrow books for free, or donate gently used reads to share with others, fostering a love of literature within the community.
The Heartwood Little Free Library commits to amplifying BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and other marginalized voices by providing diverse books. We have signed the "Read In Color" pledge. We want people from all walks of life to feel celebrated, loved, and welcomed. We share banned books because we believe everyone's voice deserves to be heard.
You can join our online book club or donate a book from our wishlist on Bookshop!
Don't forget to check in on the Little Free Library mobile app to let us know you visited!

How does a little free library work?
A Little Free Library is a free book-sharing box where anyone may take a book or share a book. You can return the book to Heartwood Library or share it with another library!(Tip: use Little Free Library mobile app to easily find libraries near you!)Do I need to donate a book to take a book?
While we are thrilled to get new books at Heartwood Little Library it is never a requirement to enjoy our books. If you would like to exchange or donate a book you can leave it inside the LFL at any time or you can buy new books from our Bookshop wishlist. What kind of books do you keep in the Heartwood Little Library?
Our goal is to keep the library stocked with a variety of genres for all ages. This library is inclusive of BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ voices. Please note: hate speech and texts promoting bigotry will be removed from this LFL.
Can I make a donation?
You can drop off a book at any time or you can buy new books from our Bookshop wishlist which we update frequently. We're affiliates with Bookshop.org so buying anything from our wish list also gives us 10% of the sale which we use to buy books from our wish list as well!Who maintains the Heartwood Little Library?
Your local LFL stewards, Lucia and Hugo, along with our kids! We will occasionally post about what we're reading on the Nextdoor book club group! Us adults keep stock of the young adult and adult books while the kids keep track of the children's and juvenile books! How do I share my experience visiting the LFL?
You can sign our guest book on the Little Free Library mobile app!Do you have a book club I can join?
Yes! You can join us for our monthly book club on Nextdoor or The Story Graph!Any other questions or concerns?
We are currently working on setting up an email account for the LFL but for now you can write a review on the Little Free Library mobile app.
